Un*x Fortunes on your Windows E-Mail
Whether your marketing purposes make you insert ads in your e-mail footers, or just for the sake of random quotes (old Un*x style), you can surely rely on Auto Signature. It's 100% free: no malware, no nags, no cripple, no calling home, it works as a charm, it doesn't hang, and though the memory footprint grows a couple MiB (6.5 tops), it doesn't really eat up too much CPU time.
Though you might be required some experience editing TXT and HTML for suiting the program to your needs, it's ben very easy to install, there were no library issues, it also has a clean uninstall process (I did an uninstall just to move it to a different drive letter) which leaves your custom quotes and other personalization untouched. Using the program is extremely easy, you just have to adjust a couple configurations like selecting the template file, your quotes database, and the ads directory (if any). Once ready, it shows two green pawprints on the SysTray, periodically building a signature file which loads every time you write an e-mail, with your random quotes and ads.
I was looking for random quotes to be inserted in my e-mail signature, Auto Signature helped me doing so. The quotes database I'm using is converted from Un*x Fortunes (though I had to convert them all to one-liners for the program to work fine), so I don't miss the "Quote of the day" anymore. I could even manage to have an English and a Spanish quote in the same sig!
